Heritage Open Day
Published: 23 September 2019
Sevenoaks Town Council took part in Heritage Open Days Festival and used Bat & Ball Station as a venue to showcase the refurbishment of this local heritage landmark.
Over 250 people attended this free event on 21st September. The weather was perfect, and the sun shone all day, Go Coach staff and volunteer bus drivers gave free bus rides up to Knole Park using eight different vintage buses. We had talks by costumed volunteers from the Crampton Tower Museum and families made train inspired arts & crafts. The Mayor unveiled two brass plaques, to commemorate the previous royal visits, and a community artwork ‘Queen Victoria’s dress’ which will now be displayed in the booking hall. This was a great ‘finale’ and celebration to the Restoration Project.
