Forget-Me-Not cafe January

Published: 31 January 2024

This month we had a special talk on Bat & Ball Station's History by the Heritage Engagement Officer at Sevenoaks Town Council.

For those of you who might not know Sevenoaks was a small market town before trains came along. It was mostly farm land and well known for it's market trading. Before railways came, the population in 1800 was 368- today the popular is around 19,000! The land that is Bat & Ball Station was originally just a simple pond in a field, owned by Sir Edmund Filmer. When the Station was built in 1862, it transformed the town into what we still see today.

At the Forget-me-not cafe it's a wonderful chance to be in the Station and hear about it's history. If you missed the cafe morning but would like to find out more, please have a look at our History section on the website.

Our next Forget-me-not cafe is on the 28th February with Sevenoaks Reserve History 10:30am - 12:30pm.
