Sevenoaks King's Coronation

Published: 07 May 2023

For the afternoon of Sunday 7th May 2023, the Town Council hosted a large afternoon party in the middle of Sevenoaks High Street from 2pm - 4pm. Over 100 tables and chairs were donated from various schools and organisations to help contribute towards the lunch, including many from STC buildings. Everyone from the town was invited (no tickets necessary!) to join in on the celebrations and bring their picnic with them. Over the course of the day, there were plenty of on-street entertainments, stalls, music, arts & crafts, marmalade making with Paddington, magic, shop window competition, a raffle and much more!

As the Station has run a crown making workshop before the event, it was encouraged for those children who attended to wear their crowns on the big day. For those who couldn't attend the Station event, an arts & crafts crown making stall was set up at the big lunch- which became very very popular! With over 50+ children coming to make their glittery crowns, and one kind volunteer cut out crowns over the course of the 2hr event- a never ending cutting session! The crown making and big lunch was a great success, with lots of happy families with crowns on their heads!

Below are a few pictures from the big event- enjoy!
