New Way to explore the History of Sevenoaks

Sevenoaks Town Team have joined up with Trail Tale to create a Sevenoaks town trail explores some of Sevenoaks most prominent points of interest.  Throughout Sevenoaks, the town is blessed with a rich and long history dating back to the 13th century. Since then, Sevenoaks has evolved itself into a hub for London commuters because of it's brilliant links to London central and also a retreat for those wishing to escape city life.

Sevenoaks Mayor, Cllr Merilyn Canet launches the trail saying; “This is a wonderful way to introduce people to the history and stories of Sevenoaks. The Town is 900 years old this year and it is fitting that we should have a simple way of telling the world much about how and why this lovely town has developed.”

Within the trail, you'll be able to look out for more classical points of interests such as Knole House, one of the finest stately homes in Kent owned by National Trust, to the places which might be less well known such as the house of Herbet George Wells, a celebrated 'father' of Sci-Fi writer in English Literature. The app is free, self-guided and very user friendly making it great for those wanting to explore the town more and explore the historical interests. It contains a 3 mile circular route starting on the High Street by Market House, with images and historical information for each point of interest. In total, it would take 2-3 hours however as it is self guided it allows the user to direct themselves through the walk for any comfortable length of time.
