Bat & Ball 'Railway Children' Film

The Stage Youth Theatre were commissioned to create a film based on The Railway Children as part of the HLF Activity Plan.  The comedic short film charts the history of the station and the impact it has now and was filmed at various venues around Sevenoaks including Knole, Sevenoaks School and Bat & Ball Station. 

Past generations when hearing Railway Children might immediately think of the classic film.  Sadly today the term ‘ Railway Children’ has a different meaning. In the UK there are many young people who find themselves in danger in and around the transport network, this could be either by being bullied and physically hurt, robbed or a young person sleeping rough on the platform.  For more details see www.railwaychildren.org.uk
